
To qualify for the 2011 / 2012 National Team the following criteria must be met:
- 2011 World Single Distance Championships competitors finishing in the Top 16
- 2011 World All Round Championships competitors finishing in the Top 16
- 2011 World Sprint Championships competitors finishing in the Top 16
- Skaters who are ranked in the top 20 of the ISU World Cup Final Rankings per distance
If a skater withdraws from the National team they will not be replaced.
Athletes nominated to the National team receive a "Senior Card" which entitles them to $1,500 per month in financial assistance from Canadian Heritage via Sport Canada.
Each year a skater spends on the National team they receive one free year of post-secondary education at an approved Canadian institution.
